Via Dinarica Kosovo – Stage 04

Via Dinarica Kosovo - Stage 04

The journey from Hajla to Boga offers hikers a captivating 8.1-km trail of moderate difficulty, unveiling the natural beauty of Kosovo’s mountains. The stage begins with a steady ascent through meadows rich in wildflowers, hawthorn shrubs, and blueberry bushes, passing by Hajla e Dramadolit, Hajla e Koshutanit, and Hajla e Shkrelit. The climb opens onto a gentle ridge, providing easy walking and panoramic views of the Çfërla and Kopranik massifs.

Midway through this stage, the route crosses a wide, open pasture where sporadic, weathered markers guide hikers toward a forested area. Hikers are advised to exercise extra caution when navigating this recently cleared forest, as signs of wildlife—including bear tracks—indicate an active ecosystem. Traveling in groups and maintaining vigilance is strongly recommended.

The shaded forest path, under the canopy of young pine trees, offers a refreshing respite. The scent of pine and the melodic chirping of birds enrich the sensory experience.

A downhill stretch leads hikers to expansive meadows offering stunning views of the Rugova Mountains and surrounding peaks. Scattered blueberry bushes invite hikers to pause for a moment, while encounters with shepherds and blueberry gatherers offer insights into the area’s traditional way of life.

The trail continues to its final descent, ending at Qafa e Dasmorëve, an area shaded by tall pines and lush vegetation. A refreshing stop at Kroni i Sadikut provides an ideal break before the trail concludes in Boga.

With the exceptional hospitality of Rudi Alp House in Boga, this stage seamlessly blends natural tranquility with the cultural richness of Kosovo’s landscapes, creating an unforgettable experience for hikers.
