The journey starts with a gentle ascent towards Qafa e Sylbicës, offering panoramic views of Maja e Gjeravicës, Kosovo’s highest peak at 2,656 meters, as well as Maja e Shkëlzenit in Albania. At Maja e Rrasës së Zogut, hikers can spot unique bird species that play a crucial role in the local ecosystem. The peak of Rrasa e Zogut serves as a sanctuary for these birds, lending the peak its name.

The trek continues through the mountains, passing around Ujëza and onward to Gjocaj, navigating lush meadows, green valleys, and numerous water springs. This mountain hike begins with a gentle incline, leading hikers toward the stunning Liqeni i Kuqishtës (1,850 m) and Liqeni i Drelajve (1,800 m), located in the southeastern part of the village of Kuqishtë. The trail passes through Lugu i Shkodrës and continues upwards toward Qafa e Jelenkës (2,270 m), crossing the slopes of Bjeshka e Milishevcit and offering breathtaking views throughout the journey.

Along the way, hikers can enjoy wild berries and natural springs, making for a refreshing experience as they progress. One of the first notable stops is Podi i Gështenjave, an attractive area covered with ancient chestnut trees, offering a deep connection with history and the fresh air of the area. This spot provides an excellent opportunity for reflection and relaxation before continuing the journey.

As the trail continues, it leads towards Bjeshka e Madhe, a majestic mountain that dominates the horizon. Natural water sources and continuous greenery provide ideal resting points to refresh with pure mountain water and experience the peace of nature.

This stage from Gacaferi, through Pllaqica e Junikut, to Gropa e Erenikut offers a diverse journey through various terrains and landscapes. The route preserves the essence of time, allowing hikers to experience the painful past, the present, and the promising future.

The journey begins with a gentle ascent through pine forests, leading to the enchanting Liqeni i Tropojës. From there, the trail moves through a mostly flat section before taking a second ascent, which ends with a panoramic descent offering breathtaking views of the wild nature. At the highest points, hikers are rewarded with magnificent views of lakes like Liqeni i Tropojës, Liqeni i Zemrës, and the Gjeravica lakes, located near Maja e Gjeravicës (2,656 m), the source of the Erenik River.

Recently added orientation signs make navigation easier, especially at turns such as Qafa e Ali Qelës. From this point, the trail descends towards Liqeni i Zemrës, providing alluring views that reflect the natural beauty of the mountains. Informational signs highlight the unique characteristics of the Dinaric Alps, enriching the hikers' experience.

At Gjeravuca lakes, the trail splits into two directions: one leading towards Deçan and the other towards Gjeravica, the highest peak in Kosovo at 2,656 meters. The ascent to this point offers stunning views and an opportunity to enjoy the magic of the Erenik River's source, creating a refreshing atmosphere that allows hikers to experience all four seasons within a few hours. For those preferring an easier route, the descent, after several kilometers, passes through meadows and panoramic landscapes dotted with shepherds and flocks of sheep, blending harmoniously with nature, until reaching Gropa e Erenikut.

This final stage, with grazing livestock and sweeping mountain views, provides a captivating conclusion to this journey in the heart of Kosovo.

Renowned for its hidden caves, Lipa is an ideal destination for the curious and adventurous. This stage of the trail is well-maintained, with terrain that gradually ascends through forests, leading to impressive caves that provide breathtaking and unforgettable views.

The trail winds through rocky terrains and shrub fields dotted with wildflowers and blueberries, creating a pleasant and panoramic hike of moderate difficulty. Along the way, hikers can encounter rare alpine plants and animal tracks. The landscape is enriched with coniferous forests, especially pine trees, which create a stunning contrast, particularly in the autumn season.

On the ancient Rusolia trail, hikers can enjoy breathtaking views etched into timeless rocks. The beech and fir forests, part of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park, add a distinct charm to this section of the trail. Here, one can spot one of the region’s most unique and endemic flowers, known as Edelweiss. The climb towards Rusolia Pass is challenging but rewarding, featuring impressive rock formations and large caves waiting to be explored.

As the trail continues, it leads to the natural spring of Hasan Delia, where hikers can enjoy fresh water to refill their bottles. The route to Shtedim traverses alpine pastures and offers stunning views of Hajla Peak. Accommodation options include Stanet e Loxhës, hosted by the Morina family, while campers can spend the night under the stars or continue to Hajla and accommodate at ERA Lodge.

This stage, which begins in the city of Peja and ends in the village of Lipë, offers a journey through rich and diverse landscapes, creating an unforgettable outdoor adventure

The route starts from the heart of the historic center of Peja, right at the Tourist Information Point. As you leave the city, the paved roads begin to disappear, replaced by natural paths that pass by “Maja e Zezë”, an area which offers a peaceful resting spot set in a beautiful meadow. This is the perfect place for a short stop where you can enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Further along, the route continues through dense pine forests, gradually opening up to stunning views of the mountainous landscape. After crossing this part, you will enter a second forest that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The sunbeams filtering through the foliage and the chirping of birds make this section of the trail particularly enjoyable.

Once the route reconnects with the paved road, a short walk will lead you to the final destination: the picturesque village of Lipë.

In Peja, you can stay at Bora Guesthouse or Hotel Stone Bridge, both of which offer comfort and are ideal for combining mountain tours with the exploration of the city of Peja and the surrounding nature.

This 18 km stage from Milishevc through Roshkodol to Gacaferi Guest House in Pllaqica e Junikut offers a unique experience for hikers, featuring diverse landscapes and easy terrain. The hike begins with a gentle ascent through the Roshkodol valley, passing near Bjeshka e Belegut, and continues toward Qafa e Bogiqës, leading to Liqeni i Tropojës—a perfect spot to pause and refresh.

The trail then takes a left turn near the peak of Bogiqë, offering spectacular views of water sources, lakes, and canyons. As you move forward, the path crosses valleys and forested stages with pine trees, providing opportunities to enjoy several water sources, such as Liqeni i Tropojës and Liqeni i Keq. This stage is suitable for hikers of all levels and ends with a comfortable stay at Gacaferi Guest House, located in Pllaqica e Junikut – Stanishta of Tropoja.

The route passes through Zllonopoja (Lojza), Roshkodol (Bujtina Roshkodoli), and continues toward Gacaferi Guest House, offering a unique, easily navigable journey. The trail runs along the Lumbardhi River of Deçan, surrounded by alpine pines and deciduous trees, allowing hikers to enjoy the refreshing mountain air and natural springs.

Panoramic views of Beleg’s peak, along with detours to other peaks such as Mariashi (2,533 m) and Rupa (2,501 m), offer challenging opportunities for those seeking adventure. The trail turns left, crosses dense forests, and provides stops near water sources, including Kroni i Hamzës, offering a relaxing and picturesque experience all the way to Gacaferi Guest House.

The journey from Haxhaj to Kuqishtë spans 11.1 kilometers of breathtaking mountain scenery, offering a stage rich in natural beauty and moderate challenges. Starting in the village of Haxhaj, this stage guides hikers through dense deciduous forests and serene meadows, gradually revealing expansive views of Kosovo's rugged terrain, including stunning vistas of Maja e Licit, one of the most distinctive sights in the Rugova Gorge.

As the trail levels out, hikers are immersed in wild landscapes, transitioning from lush woodlands to vibrant meadows adorned with blackberries and edible plants, creating a refreshing and rewarding experience.

The hike continues with a steep but manageable descent, leading to a 4x4-accessible path that heads toward the area near Kuqishtë. Abundant water sources, shaded sections, and the seasonal availability of berries offer a balance of adventure and comfort, making this stage a must for nature enthusiasts.

The trail concludes near Kuqishtë, where hikers can rest and recharge at accommodations such as Oxygen Villa or Gjevukaj Lodge in Kuqishtë, Kaçaku Guesthouse in Drelaj, Chalet Kujta in Shtupeq, or Te Liqeni near Liqenat. These guesthouses warmly welcome visitors, offering an authentic mountain retreat and the perfect end to a memorable journey.
