Lipa, a beautiful and peaceful village near Peja, provides a relaxed hiking experience surrounded by the majestic Peja and Sejnova Mountains. The trail features moderate elevation changes, offering vibrant landscapes and wide-reaching views.
Renowned for its hidden caves, Lipa is an ideal destination for the curious and adventurous. This stage of the trail is well-maintained, with terrain that gradually ascends through forests, leading to impressive caves that provide breathtaking and unforgettable views.
The trail winds through rocky terrains and shrub fields dotted with wildflowers and blueberries, creating a pleasant and panoramic hike of moderate difficulty. Along the way, hikers can encounter rare alpine plants and animal tracks. The landscape is enriched with coniferous forests, especially pine trees, which create a stunning contrast, particularly in the autumn season.
On the ancient Rusolia trail, hikers can enjoy breathtaking views etched into timeless rocks. The beech and fir forests, part of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park, add a distinct charm to this section of the trail. Here, one can spot one of the region’s most unique and endemic flowers, known as Edelweiss. The climb towards Rusolia Pass is challenging but rewarding, featuring impressive rock formations and large caves waiting to be explored.
As the trail continues, it leads to the natural spring of Hasan Delia, where hikers can enjoy fresh water to refill their bottles. The route to Shtedim traverses alpine pastures and offers stunning views of Hajla Peak. Accommodation options include Stanet e Loxhës, hosted by the Morina family, while campers can spend the night under the stars or continue to Hajla and accommodate at ERA Lodge.
